CM Punk Hits Back At Claims He’s A Locker Room “Cancer”

CM Punk

CM Punk has fired back at a popular criticism.

Prior to his return to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, it’s fair to say CM Punk’s reputation was in need of some rehabilitation.

The star initially left WWE in 2014 in highly acrimonious circumstances before being involved in two major backstage incidents in AEW — the second of which resulted in him being fired.

Prior to returning to WWE, CM Punk was branded a “cancer” by Seth Rollins, and there were reports that several figures in AEW agreed. However, the man himself has bristled at the allegations.

During an appearance on The Masked Man Show during Fanatics Fest NYC, it was put to Punk that many expected the problems he experienced in AEW to follow him back to WWE.

“That’s all bullsh*t. None of that stuff is reality. ‘Oh, he’s a cancer.’ Listen, not everybody gets nice me. I treat you accordingly. If you’re a piece of shit, and you act that way to me, I will treat you that way. If you’re nice, you’re smiling, you want to have a good time, let’s have a good time. I’m all hugs.

It’s not like I’m two different people, there are just certain people, the ones that spread those lies and say those things about me, because they can’t control me and they can’t control the things I do and say. They absolutely hate that, so they try to control the way other people feel or see me. It’s bullsh*t. You’re going to have to make your own judgment and draw your own conclusion.”

CM Punk Wants Match With WWE Legend

During the same interview, CM Punk addressed a potential match with Steve Austin at WrestleMania 41. Austin had previously hinted that he could appear at the event but has recently distanced himself from the idea of an in-ring comeback.

Punk said a match between the pair would be up to Austin, before adding “If he wants to go to sleep, he can call me.”
