CM Punk Believes Former TNT Champion “Has A Lot To Offer”
There have been plenty of wrestlers who could be called “franchise players” since AEW formed, but CM Punk has picked he thinks can fit that mould for a long time to come.
Many would lean towards the likes of Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, being Executive Vice Presidents of the company, as being the cornerstones the company would be built round. Whilst they’ve certainly kept their profiles high, they’ve also had a group of wrestlers who became the ‘pillars’ of the organization.
It’s one of these pillars that the ‘Real World Champion’ has pointed to as being the one he would look to revolve everything around.
CM Punk “Super Proud” Of AEW Pillar
In a discussion with Justin Burrasso for Sports Illustrated, spoke extremely highly of Darby Allin, naming as someone he would choose as a first round draft pick who has ‘the it factor’.
It’s Darby Allin. He’s still fairly young, and he always makes chicken salad out of chicken sh–. He’s got that ‘It Factor’, and he’s really getting comfortable. We had a whole big promo segment a few weeks ago [on Collision], and I thought he shined. That made me super proud. He has a ton to offer, as long as he doesn’t kill himself jumping over his house in a f—— monster truck or something like that.
Both Punk and Allin are in for big matches at All In, with Punk defending his Real World Championship against Samoa Joe, whilst the former TNT Champion teams with Sting to take on Swerve Strickland and AR Fox in a Coffin Match.
