CM Punk Makes Massive Claim About Seth Rollins On WWE: Unreal
The CM Punk-Seth Rollins real-life rivalry is one for the ages.
It all began when a 16-year-old Rollins approached Punk to show him the ropes of the wrestling industry without any charge.
Punk refused the proposal, which Rollins saw as dismissive, planting the seeds for a long-standing enmity.
Both wrestlers worked their way up to ultimately find their way into the WWE, where they even shared the ring as a tag team on NXT.
However, it was CM Punk’s departure in 2014 that set the stage for their future rivalry, as both occasionally traded verbal jabs.
In 2023, Rollins called Punk a “cancer” to the wrestling business.
Punk returned to the Stamford-based company in late 2023. WWE capitalized on their real-life problems, even adding Punk and Rollins in a storyline leading up to WrestleMania 41.
CM Punk Likens Seth Rollins To His Former Self
WWE: Unreal, the company’s latest docuseries, briefly discusses CM Punk’s animosity with Seth Rollins.
Punk recalled being approached by Rollins to take him under his wing, but refusing him.
He also made a bold statement, which might trigger ‘The Visionary.’
CM Punk acknowledged Rollins’ rise within the company during his absence, but claimed that he was back now.
While trading one final jab, Punk also said:
Seth right now looks and sounds like CM Punk from 2013.
In 2013, Punk had arguably the best run in WWE, feuding against the likes of The Rock, The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, and the SHIELD.
He departed the company in 2014 due to creative differences.
Punk is also scheduled to wrestle at the upcoming SummerSlam PLE, where he will challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship.
