CM Punk Called “Soft” By Current WWE Star
A current WWE star believes CM Punk has gone soft.
Grayson Waller recently assessed The Second City Saint based on his two stints in the World Wrestling Entertainment.
Punk’s first stint with the promotion was from 2005 to 2014. In 2021, he joined AEW and was there until August 2023.
He then rejoined WWE in November of that year and has remained an active member of the current roster. Punk recently became a two-time World Heavyweight Champion after defeating Jey Uso at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLI.
The 47-year-old was in action on the latest RAW taping, where he teamed up with Uso to take on The Vision’s Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.
The match ended in a double countout after both teams failed to answer the referee’s ten-count to get back in the ring.
Subsequently, a stand-off occurred between CM Punk and The Brons, with all of them holding a chair each. Logan Paul, who had earlier been attacked by The Vision, ran to the ring and stood beside Punk.
However, instead of aligning with him, he knocked him out and has now seemingly joined The Vision.
Grayson Waller Berates CM Punk
Grayson Waller recently appeared on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight, where he was asked about a future dream match with any wrestler.
Waller named CM Punk as his dream match opponent, while also calling him “soft.”
The 35-year-old revealed being excited when CM Punk returned to WWE in 2023, but said that he was disappointed in the version he saw. Waller explained:
I’ll give some examples. I go to NXT last year, and he’s there with Fraxiom watching their match back, giving them some advice. And then Roxanne’s there and he’s like, ‘Hey, Waller, want to come watch this match?’ What do you mean? He’s really helpful backstage, and he’s super nice and all this. I’m either gonna be really disappointed that he’s softened, and this is the new Punk, and he’s just a really nice guy now, or the real Punk is hiding in there, and I want to be the one to bring it out.
That’s what I want to do. Because it’s like, I guess I was ready to fight him backstage. I thought that’s what we were gonna do. I was like this is gonna be sick, like he’s gonna start causing chaos, like he’s gonna beat gonna beat up little flops backstage again, I’m in dude.
But now he’s just a really nice guy and very helpful to everyone, helps everyone at NXT and does all this. That’s not the Punk that I love. I want to bring it back out, so I’m gonna get that opportunity.
I’ve told him to his face, I’m like, there’s gonna be a day where I’m gonna stand across from you with a microphone, and I’m gonna tell you exactly what I think about you, and I want you to tell me exactly what you think about me. And I think that magic, because I don’t think we’ve seen NXT Waller on the main roster yet.
