CM Punk made some interesting comments about his wife AJ Lee’s potential WWE return.

The first WWE run of CM Punk from 2006 until his departure in January 2014 was full of highs and lows, as Punk himself admitted. When Punk left, he was angry and burned out, so he stayed away from WWE for nearly a decade.

That run in WWE also saw Punk meet his wife, the former WWE Women’s Champion AJ Lee, who was arguably the most popular woman in the company in the early part of the 2010s.

Since Punk returned to WWE in November 2023, he has been asked about his wife’s potential return to the company constantly. Punk has said it’s up to her, and so far, she hasn’t come back in any way.

While speaking to TV Insider about his appearance on the TV show “Revival,” CM Punk explained that he has a perfect relationship with his wife because they don’t work together.

“There are really two things me and my wife don’t do together. One is to work out and the other is to work together. It’s really the perfect relationship. She is my partner through and through. She has her things, and I have mine.”

As he continued, Punk also admitted that if the right opportunity arises, they will likely work together again, while also praising his wife for her creative mind.

When the right thing comes along, I guarantee we will work together. Although I’m not looking over her shoulder while she is slaving away at her computer telling her to write a role for me for her many projects coming up. I’m sure it will happen if it fits. And it has to fit. It can’t be forced. It can’t be her just writing something for me or vice-versa or me trying to get her slotted into something because she is my wife.

She is a creative genius and extremely talented in her own right. So, anything we do end up doing together will be super fun, but it has to be the right fit.
