CM Punk Going Against Triple H’s Wishes In WWE

Triple H CM Punk

CM Punk is back in WWE with a bang but he’s being more careful than perhaps Triple H would hope for.

CM Punk and Triple H’s relationship has not always been a positive one. Vince McMahon’s “doofus son-in-law” felt the ire of Punk during his famed pipebomb promo and following his acrimonious exit from the company, Punk left no doubt about how he felt about The Game.

However, time is a great healer. At Survivor Series in November 2023, CM Punk made his shock return to WWE just a few short weeks after he was fired by Tony Khan and AEW.

Speaking on The MMA Hour CM Punk finally opened up about his time in AEW with Punk detailing the conflict with Jack Perry that ultimately led to his exit.

CM Punk Too Reserved For Triple H

Punk also touched on his current relationship with Triple H and explained that he thinks the WWE CCO wants to see him be more outlandish, but says he’s not trying to cause any upset:

I think I’m more reserved than he wants me to be. I don’t want to rock the boat. I’m not trying to do this. We’ve had some great conversations and I’m part of the team. I’m doing what I can. I’m sure my responsibilities might grow in the future. I’m totally stoked doing what I’m doing.

CM Punk also claimed that AEW is not a real business in the way he thought it was and said despite being a nice guy that Tony Khan was not a boss in his company.
