Clearest Sign Yet Ricochet Is AEW-Bound As Tony Khan Changes Course

Ricochet

Tony Khan is mindful of what he talks about and what he doesn’t but now he’s lavished praise on one star leading many to believe they are about to appear in AEW.

In recent weeks it became apparent that Ricochet was heading out of WWE as his current deal with the company came to an end. Recently, several stars in the company have signed new deals as they neared the end of their old ones but Ricochet is said to have made clear that he would not be re-signing and was on his way out.

That led to plenty of speculation that the high-flying star was on his way to AEW but Tony Khan refused to discuss Ricochet while he was still under a WWE contract. But he’s changed tack now.

Tony Khan Full Of Admiration For Ricochet

Speaking to Comicbook.com, Tony Khan lavished praise on Ricochet touting his history not only with one of AEW’s partner promotions but of his current biggest stars:

I’m a huge fan of Ricochet. I think he’s a great, great wrestler. He’s been involved in matches against some of the top stars in AEW. He also has a great history in New Japan Pro Wrestling, as he’s been a champion there and a top star. We have great collaboration there and I love the history of New Japan and I think he’s a big part of it.

During a great era when a lot of our top stars were wrestling there, he was a big part of it. I have a lot of admiration and respect for Ricochet and think he’s one of the top athletes and one of the most exciting stars in all of wrestling.

Oh wow, just phenomenal. Phenomenal matches. Phenomenal one-on-one matches. Ricochet was phenomenal in New Japan Pro Wrestling as a single star and as a tag team star. One of his greatest rivals was Will Ospreay and they had tremendous, tremendous matches. They have a lot of chemistry and friendship outside of the ring too.

Khan’s change in direction when it comes to discussing Ricochet could confirm that he is no longer under a WWE contract and indicate that the AEW boss has a desire to make the former Intercontinental Champion All Elite.
