Claudio Castagnoli Names AEW Star With A Perfect Uber Rating
Although Claudio Castagnoli is yet to have wrestled a five-star rated match, he does work closely alongside an AEW personality who possesses a perfect rating on Uber.
Dave Meltzer’s star ratings are considered a holy grail within professional wrestling, with his latest five-star rating being issued to Gunther and Sheamus for their acclaimed Intercontinental Championship bout at WWE Clash At The Castle. However, wrestlers are also keen of Uber ratings to ensure a smooth travel schedule.
Claudio Castagnoli discussed such ratings on the AEW Unrestricted podcast. ‘The Swiss Superman’ revealed that although his rating is just under five, his Blackpool Combat Club comrade William Regal has the perfect rating:
“We established like last week, we had a shoot prior to [Jon] Mox’s title unification match and we kind of established that…it kind of started as a joke but it was funny because the only thing that matters in the Blackpool Combat Club is Uber ratings. The only stars that matter are Uber ratings because [William Regal] has a five-star Uber rating.
I mentioned it because my Uber rating dropped from 4.91 to 4.89 and I’m very upset because that means somebody would have had to rate me lower and I want to find out who it was. [Regal] just pulled up his rating and goes, ‘Perfect five’. I’ve never met anyone that had a perfect five that uses it as much as he does so it’s very impressive.”
Uber ratings for the remaining BCC members – Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, and Wheeler YUTA – are unknown.
Claudio Castagnoli was added to William Regal’s Blackpool Combat Club upon debuting at AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door. He’s since produced stellar performances in the second-annual Blood and Guts match, as well as throughout his reign as ROH World Champion. The former Cesaro lifted the title from Jonathan Gresham this past July.
