Christian Cage won’t be leaving AEW any time soon.

In 2021, Christian Cage was handed a second chance at ending his career on his terms, and he quickly jumped to AEW. Cage went on to clash with many of the biggest names the company had to offer, even pinning Kenny Omega for the IMPACT World Championship.

In more recent times Cage has created his own faction dubbed “The Patriarchy,” going to war with real-life best friend Adam Copeland. The star’s latest match came at Double or Nothing where he unsuccessfully challenged Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Title.

During a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, Cage said that despite turning 50 in November, he’s got no desire to slow down. The star added he’s got around three years remaining on his current contract.

“I always said that I would do it till it wasn’t fun, and that was my barometer on it so, how can I not be having fun right now? It’s still fun, it’s still fun. I have no timeline, I signed a contract. I think I have another three years left on this contract so we’ll get to the end of that and then see what happens but you know, I feel like I have a lot of knowledge.

I don’t know everything but I know a lot and I feel like I think (about) the business differently and I layout matches and I see matches differently than other people do. I would like to, at some point, when the time is right to obviously give back to the business that has done what it’s done for me.”

Christian Cage Credits Jon Moxley For AEW Switch

During the interview, Christian Cage broke down how he came to join AEW, revealing Jon Moxley played a key role.

After returning to the ring with WWE at the Royal Rumble in 2021, talks between the star and the sports entertainment giant had stalled. During this period, Cage received a call from Jon Moxley who said he would be mad not to reach out to AEW and at least have a conversation.

The veteran revealed he got a call from Tony Khan later that day, and he quickly decided to become All Elite.
