Chris Jericho Compares Eddie Kingston With Major WWE Star

Chris Jericho and Eddie Kingston shake hands at AEW Revolution 2022

Though the pair are on-screen rivals, Chris Jericho had high praise for Eddie Kingston when comparing him with a modern WWE legend.

2022 for Chris Jericho has been dominated by issues with Eddie Kingston and Blackpool Combat Club. Kingston, in particular, followed Jericho closely throughout the summer months, including their participation in both the Anarchy In The Arena, and Blood and Guts matches.

Despite their beef together, Jericho knows talent when he sees it. Speaking on the latest AEW Unrestricted podcast, ‘The Ocho’ addressed Eddie Kingston, comparing him to WWE’s Randy Orton:

“Eddie Kingston reminds me of Randy Orton, and I’ll tell you the reason why. Polar opposites in image and gimmick, but neither one of them quite realize just how good they are. They kind of think it’s funny to kind of downplay themselves, but they’re both so good, and Eddie doesn’t quite get it yet.”

Chris Jericho and Eddie Kingston‘s rivalry began with the latter defeating the inaugural AEW World Champion at Revolution. With several multi-man clashes following, the feud culminated on 20 July as Jericho was victorious in a Barbed Wire Deathmatch.

Continuing to explain the greatness of ‘The Mad King’, Chris Jericho detailed why he believes Eddie is a future AEW World Champion:

“When he does [get it], he’s gonna be a World Champion. Not that he doesn’t now, but he still has an inner demon. I think those are going away, because he realizes just how good he is, but I saw from the start.”
