Charlotte Flair Issues Stinging Correction To WWE Champion

Charlotte Flair has responded after NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez invoked The Queen’s name on WWE television.

At 22 years old, Roxanne Perez is already a two-time NXT Women’s Champion and continued her second reign with the gold as she defeated Lola Vice at Heatwave.

On the 16th of July edition of NXT, Perez made clear that there was no one in NXT that could compete with her so she was competing with the history books instead. Claiming to know her history, Perez stated that it was one day off from Charlotte Flair’s WWE TV debut and that Flair had amassed 14 world title reigns in the years since, a record Perez was looking to smash.

Taking to social media, Charlotte Flair has corrected Roxanne Perez on one crucial point while gently putting the NXT Women’s Champion in her place:

You almost had it right. It’s been 11. But thank you! I really do have the best fans. Keep doing your thing. We will meet in the ring one day—I’m sure of it.

Where Is Charlotte Flair?

Charlotte Flair last competed in a WWE ring back in December 2023 when she lost to Asuka on the Tribute to the Troops edition of SmackDown. During that match, Flair suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus and quickly underwent surgery that has caused her to be out of action ever since.

Charlotte Flair gave her latest update on her condition in June as she plots her road back to a WWE ring and no doubt eyes up her own father Ric Flair’s and John Cena’s recognised record as 16-time world champions.
