Charlotte Flair Will Attend Ric Flair’s Final Match

Ric Flair has confirmed that his daughter and WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair will be attending his final match during SummerSlam weekend.

Back in May, Ric Flair announced that he would be returning to the ring one final time. The 73 year-old hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Sting in 2011 while working for TNA.

Since then the star has overcome numerous health issues, with many believing they had ended any chance of the Nature Boy wrestling again. However, the 16-time World Champion had other ideas, and he will be stepping inside the squared circle one more time on July 31st as part of Starrcast V.

After much speculation it was announced on July 18th that Flair will be teaming with his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo at the event to take on Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett. Lethal has been training with Flair for a number of months, helping him prepare for the match.

During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Flair addressed the match, revealing that he’s struggling with a foot injury.

“I have plantar fasciitis in the bottom of my foot. Other than that, I am perfect. That damn thing is sore as shit. I’m at the doctor right now. They are gonna start injecting me with stuff,”

When Flair was asked whether he felt he owed Lethal the match after playing such a big role in his training, he was full of praise for the star.

“Absolutely. He’s a great guy. This kind of stuff, if I can pull it off, will be re-writing everything in my legacy again. Little nagging things. I thought I had COVID, then I thought I had pneumonia. You’re waking up every day thinking, ‘What could go wrong?’ Instead of being positive. That’s partly getting older and having lack of confidence, which I’ve had over the years. We’re going to have 9,000 people. I’m looking forward to it.”

Flair also confirmed that his daughter, Charlotte Flair will also be in attendance, although he’s unsure whether she will appear on camera.

She’ll be there, but I don’t know if she’ll be on camera. She wouldn’t miss that. I don’t think she would miss it, even if Andrade wasn’t involved. She just might not be on camera. A lot of guys are coming. (Rey) Mysterio, Apollo, (Pat) McAfee, Kid Rock will be there.”

Charlotte Flair hasn’t been seen on WWE television since WrestleMania Backlash where she was defeated by Ronda Rousey.
