People “Close” To Cash Wheeler Did Not Know About Assault Charge
Cash Wheeler was recently arrested and a new report suggests that people close to him didn’t know about it.
It was reported earlier today that Cash Wheeler of the AEW Tag Team Champions FTR (with Dax Harwood) was arrested for aggravated assault with a firearm. It was first reported by the Orlando Sentinel:
“Daniel Wheeler, a tag-team champion in All Elite Wrestling, was arrested Friday morning by the Orlando Police Department and charged with one count of aggravated assault with a firearm. He was booked in Circuit Court, according to county records.”
The warrant for Wheeler’s arrest was filed on July 28th. Wheeler pleaded not guilty to the charge of aggravated assault with a firearm via his attorney with the circuit court of Orange County, Florida on August 3rd.
In an update, Nick Hausman of Haus of Wrestling reported that people who are “close to Cash Wheeler did not know about his aggravated assault with a firearm charge until today.”
There is a video from the hearing of Cash Wheeler’s arraignment that can be seen below.

As noted by PWInsider Elite, at Wheeler’s arraignment this morning, the prosecution stated that the incident was “believed to be a road rage incident” and that during that incident, Wheeler allegedly “flashed a gun” at the other party.
The attorney for Wheeler said that Cash did not know the other party. They kept using the word “victims” meaning it was more than one person involved on the other side of the incident.
There’s a $2500 bond for Wheeler, who was ordered to turn in any weapons he may own to the Orange County Sherriff’s Office within 12 hours. Wheeler was ordered to not have any contact with the victims as well.
Cash Wheeler Is Advertised For Huge Match At AEW All In
At AEW All In on August 27th, FTR’s Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood are advertised to defend the AEW Tag Team Titles against The Young Bucks. Whether the match actually takes place following Wheeler’s arrest remains to be seen.
The only comment from AEW at this point is as follows:
“AEW has been made aware of the charge, and we are closely monitoring the situation. (Wheeler) is fully cooperating with local authorities.”
