Carmelo Hayes Breaks Silence On Mystery NXT Attack

Carmelo Hayes

Carmelo Hayes either wants justice or thinks justice has been dished out for his friend, Trick Williams.

The 17th of October edition of NXT television set up the next two weeks of Halloween Havoc with several title matches confirmed on the show.

The night’s main event saw Carmelo Hayes, Dijak, and Baron Corbin face off for the right to challenge Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship on the 31st of October but things could have been very different.

The match was made a four-way earlier in the night with Trick Williams added to the bout somewhat to Carmelo Hayes’ annoyance. Although the two friends teamed up to chase off Corbin and Dijak early in the night, there was palpable tension between Williams and Hayes backstage later on with both men now chasing the same gold.

However, Williams never made it to the main event as he was attacked backstage by an unknown assailant. Carmelo Hayes was very quick to the scene as referees tended to Williams as he demanded to know who had attacked him.

The triple threat match went ahead without Williams who was noted to have been taken to hospital. In the end, Hayes pulled out the victory giving him the chance to re-capture the NXT Championship against Ilja Dragunov.
