Jey Uso’s World Heavyweight Champion reign lasted for 51 days before he lost it to Gunther on June 9th, 2025.

Ever since the beginning of his singles journey, fans had been rallying behind The YEET Master for his first world championship run.

It was quite the treat for the WWE Universe when Uso won the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41. However, it was soon taken off him and placed back on The Ring General.

Rikishi gives his opinion on Jey Uso being the world champion again

Some believe Uso did not need it longer than 51 days since he is already over with the fans. However, it was important to put the title on Gunther since he was going up against Goldberg at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

While speaking on Rikishi Fatu Off The Top podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer provided his opinion on how it would go if Jey Uso was handed another world championship run.

Jey’s [Uso] still that guy to be able to, you know, he’s young, he’s still active to be able to keep moving. I feel the company can trust Jey now. They can trust him to be able to, if you wanted to carry the ball again, that he can. And at the end of the day, it’s like, the numbers don’t lie on stuff like that.

Previously, Rikishi had blasted WWE for taking the title off his son.

After losing the title, Jey Uso teamed up with Roman Reigns for SummerSlam 2025. They defeated Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker on Night 1 of the premium live event.

Currently, The YEET Master is booked for a Fatal Four-Way against LA Knight, CM Punk, and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins for Clash in Paris on August 31st, 2025.
