Bryan Danielson’s AEW Booking Influence Revealed

Bryan Danielson AEW

Bryan Danielson is in charge of his own destiny.

At AEW Dynasty, Bryan Danielson will meet Will Ospreay in a contest that can only be described as a “dream match.” Both men are widely regarded as not only two of the best wrestlers in the world today but two wrestlers who will be remembered as all-time greats by the time they hang up their boots.

The match represents the latest stop on Danielson’s full-time farewell tour before he really begins to wind down his career in 2025.

Despite being on the verge of such a big match, the American Dragon will team with Claudio Castagnoli to take on Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher in a Bunkhouse Brawl just 24 hours earlier on Collision.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer questioned the wisdom of Danielson competing in such a match but admitted that it’s Danielson making the calls on his creative.

“Danielson isn’t doing it unless it’s Danielson’s idea to do it,” Meltzer said. “When it comes to Danielson, you gotta defer to Danielson. He may not always be right but he’s the one making the calls. I mean, Tony’s making the final calls, but Danielson isn’t doing anything he doesn’t want to do.”

Ex-WWE Star Recalls “Super Secret Mission” With Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson’s career appeared to be all but over in 2016 when he announced he was retiring due to concussion-related issues. However, the star was back in the ring two years later after a lengthy battle to get medically cleared.

During a virtual signing for East Coast Autograph Auctions, ex-WWE star Mike Rallis — formerly known as Riddick Moss, revealed that Danielson was a little more active during his retirement than many realised.

The former WWE star recalled being summoned to the Performance Center for a secret training session with the now-AEW star.
