The Final Countdown has to wait as Bryan Danielson has overcome all the odds all over again to win championship gold on AEW’s biggest show of the year.

Bryan Danielson has already made clear that his full-time wrestling career is coming to an end. But it seemed the American Dragon wanted to go out with a bang as he entered the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament with the winner claiming a shot at the AEW World Championship at All In.

Danielson defeated Shingo Takagi, PAC, and Adam Page to win the tournament ensuring that he’d be the man to clash with Swerve Strickland in Wembley Stadium.

However, Bryan Danielson raised the stakes for that match as he announced he’d retire if he failed to defeat Strickland as the All In main event became title vs. career.

With tens of thousands singing Danielson to the ring with The Final Countdown in Wembley, it was clear who the people’s favourite was despite Swerve Strickland also laying claim to England’s national stadium being his house.

Strickland took advantage of a brief distraction to the referee as Prince Nana brought him the ring bell to drop Danielson onto causing the challenger to be busted open. Swerve proved the lengths he was willing to go to as he dragged Danielson over in front of his wife, son, and daughter to continue the assault.

Fans were left to fear the worst when the referee called for medical attention after Danielson was dropped with the vertebreaker but Strickland cleared the ring to try and finish the job and Danielson’s career. As Danielson reached for his wife and children, Strickland hit three House Calls but the challenger rolled his shoulder up to prolong his career.

Bryan Danielson screamed to his family that he loved them as he absorbed kicks from the champion and survived Big Pressure as the fans in Wembley Stadium went wild. Adam Page then looked to cause the ultimate distraction as he confronted Strickland with a future showdown between them almost guaranteed.

Strickland survived the Busaiku Knee but two more flattened the champion before Danielson locked in the LeBell Lock to win the AEW World Title. The career of The American Dragon continues.
