Bryan Danielson Sent Legal Letter By WWE Over Trademark

Bryan Danielson AEW

Bryan Danielson received a legal threat from WWE over a recent trademark.

Back in July, Bryan Danielson applied to trademark the phrase “YES! YES! YES!”. The chant has been synonymous with the star for over a decade, ever since he launched the “Yes! Movement” in 2013. That movement forced WWE to change its booking for WrestleMania 30, with Danielson not only inserted into the main event, but emerging from it with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

While he tended not to encourage the chant in his early days in AEW, it became undeniable and he has been using it more and more.

During an appearance on Luke James Chats, Danielson revealed that after filing for the trademark, he received a legal letter from WWE, something he found “really weird.”

“Well, so, it’s weird. I applied for it, but then I got – it wasn’t necessarily a cease and desist, I got some sort of legal letter from WWE [laughs].”

“It’s really weird because my manager just texted me and said like, ‘Hey, this thing is available. Do you want to get it?’ And I was like, ‘How much does it cost?’ And it wasn’t that much. And I was like, ‘Ok, sure.’

“And then shortly after that I got an email from WWE saying like, ‘Oh, this is infringing on this or that or whatever.’ And I’m like, ‘Dude, I’m not trying to sell anybody anything.’ Yeah, I just do my thing.”

Bryan Danielson Didn’t Choose AEW World Title Challenger

While he has some say in his opponents, a new report has revealed that Bryan Danielson did not choose Jack Perry for his first AEW World Championship defence. Danielson will put the gold and his career on the line against Perry at All Out, but seemingly the call for the match was made by AEW and not The American Dragon himself.
