“I’m Way Richer Than Genghis Khan Ever Was” – Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson considers himself a wealthier man than one of history’s most accomplished emperors.

With American Thanksgiving here, Bryan Danielson was recently asked what he’s thankful for. Speaking with Ron Funches on One Fall, Bryan answered that he was grateful for the little things, including Sprite. This turned into an interesting conversation about how Bryan Danielson the wrestler had more wealth than the 12th/13th century emperor Genghis Khan.

“One of the things that I like to remind my friends, all the time, is that — Sprite is a perfect example — Genghis Khan took over most of his known world at the time. He never had Sprite. I’m way richer than Genghis Khan ever was. If he wanted to eat something delicious, it took a long time, and I’m sure he had someone else cook it for it him.

I don’t eat McDonald’s, but I’m sure I can go into McDonald’s and get something better than he ever ate in his entire life, and that man ruled the world. Genghis Khan, screw him, he never had Sprite.”

Born as Temüjin, Genghis Khan united the scattered Mongolian tribes and created the largest contiguous empire in written human history. During his lifetime, his empire stretched from his home in Mongolia westward to Legnica in western Poland to as far south as Gaza.

Despite the massive bloodshed brought on by his armies and their invasions, Khan’s empire also led to the creation of the Silk Road, which enabled the enormous trade and exchange of cultures and ideas between Christian Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

And in one of the most enduring and hotly-debated legacies of his, Genghis Khan is estimated to have around 16,000,000 descendants scattered all over the world.

On the November 23rd episode of AEW Dynamite, Bryan Danielson convinced Jon Moxley not to beat up William Regal and it worked, at least for now.
