Bryan Danielson Returns In Shocking Fashion On AEW Dynamite
Bryan Danielson had been absent from AEW television since losing at Revolution to MJF as he challenged for the AEW World Championship but now Danielson is back and the entire roster better be on notice.
The issues with the Blackpool Combat Club and The Elite continued on Dynamite as Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta attacked Hangman Adam Page backstage. Page had been considering the offer of a handshake from snake oil salesman Don Callis at the time and the hapless Callis just stood and watched before Moxley gave him a smack on the mouth as well for his troubles.
That happened immediately before Kenny Omega defended his IWGP US Championship against Jeff Cobb. Omega was successful in that match but immediately afterwards the BCC surrounded the ring in a manner very recognisable for Jon Moxley as they were poised to attack.
To the surprise of everyone Bryan Danielson then came to the ring calling off his teammates from the potential attack. Danielson offered his hand to Omega but when Omega turned his back The American Dragon revealed his true intentions as he nailed him with a huge Busaiku Knee before locking him in the LeBell Lock while the rest of the BCC cleared out security as well as Brandon Cutler and Michael Nakazawa.
The timing of the BCC and The Elite’s issues is interesting as this is the time of year that AEW has historically begun setting up Blood & Guts matches. The Blackpool Combat Club currently has 4 members while Adam Page could finally bury the hatchet with The Elite to team up with them.
Blood & Guts matches have historically been five-on-five but there is nothing to say AEW won’t switch it up to a four-on-four match. Alternatively, The Elite could be joined by Konosuke Takeshita who has been heavily recruited on TV by Don Callis, or even Adam Cole who has history with all of The Elite.
As for who could possibly join the BCC team, if only there was someone on the AEW roster who had well publicised and very personal issues with Adam Page, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega…we’ll all have to wait and see.
