Bryan Danielson Name Drops WrestleMania In Heartfelt AEW Speech
Bryan Danielson has almost done it all in the wrestling business but as one of AEW’s top stars, fans at Dynamite might have been surprised to hear him mention WWE’s WrestleMania.
The Elite took out AEW boss Tony Khan in a sickening attack several weeks ago leaving the power-mad group led by EVPS The Young Bucks calling the shots in the company.
However, their power was somewhat marginalised when Kenny Omega – also an EVP – returned in his home town of Winnipeg to announce a huge Anarchy In The Arena match for Double Or Nothing. The Elite will take on a Team AEW in that bout with AEW’s quartet originally made up of FTR, Eddie Kingston, and Bryan Danielson.
An injury to Eddie Kingston forced him out of the match and on Dynamite in Everett, Washington, his replacement was revealed.
In the show’s main event, The Elite’s Kazuchika Okada successfully defended his Continental Championship against Dax Harwood. After the match, The Elite pounced until Harwood was saved by Cash Wheeler and Bryan Danielson. The Elite managed to overwhelm all three men however until Darby Allin made his shock return to AEW and was then announced as Team AEW’s fourth man for Double Or Nothing.
Bryan Danielson Credits Fans For WrestleMania Main Event
After the show went off the air, Darby Allin, FTR, and Bryan Danielson addressed the crowd with Allin and Danielson in their home state. Bryan Danielson thanked the crowd and said it was their support that led him to headline WrestleMania which received a big ovation.
Bryan Danielson famously won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 30 in 2014 when he defeated Batista and Randy Orton in a Triple Threat match.
