Bryan Danielson “Fully Cleared” Ahead Of WrestleDream
With his match with Zack Sabre Jr. looming ever closer, Bryan Danielson has confirmed that he has been fully cleared by AEW’s medics.
Having sustained an arm injury whilst wrestling Kazuchika Okada in the main event of Forbidden Door 2, many were surprised that ‘The American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson returned to action at All Out less than three months later – although it was speculated the return was moved forward due to CM Punk being let go by the company.
His matches since then have been limited, but have all been building to what is being referred to as a technical wrestling dream match against Zack Sabre Jr.
In a discussion with Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, Danielson admitted that his matches have either been “gimmicks” or tags since his return to protect himself, but that he’s now “fully cleared”, with things improving over the last couple of weeks.
Our doctors would still not like me to do certain things, but from like two weeks ago when I had the tag match the strength in my hand is coming back way faster than they thought it would, the mobility and all that stuff.
Danielson Could Face Further Injury
Continuing on, Bryan Danielson admitted that there’s the potential for him to break his arm in a different place due to the steel rod which has now been inserted.
I still have to be cautious probably for the next year or so. They put a steel rod in my arm. One of the things they said is that it actually makes it more likely to break not where it broke before, but where the end of the rod is. It’s like a fulcrum for the bone to bend against.
Zack Sabre Jr. has been extremely vocal during the match, including claiming he’s going to end Danielson’s career.
