Bryan Danielson has nothing but praise for Swerve Strickland.
Despite both men being from the state of Washington, the Title Tuesday edition of AEW Dynamite was the first time Bryan Danielson had ever shared the ring with Swerve Strickland.
The American Dragon stepped into Swerve’s house for the chance to challenge Christian Cage on the following edition of Collision. Bryan Danielson emerged victorious against Strickland but the leader of the Mogul Embassy left a strong impression.
Speaking with Sports Nightly, Bryan Danielson waxed lyrical about Strickland and noted that the star is special:
“I also wanna say, so this last Tuesday was the first time I had ever been in the ring with Swerve (Strickland) and I’d watched him wrestling before and he’s just — he’s that next level of great… Seeing him is one thing, being in the ring with him is a completely different thing, but that dude is something special.”
Did Bryan Danielson capture the TNT Championship?
Danielson took on Christian Cage for the TNT Title on the 14th of October edition of Collision. Both the Blackpool Combat Club as well as Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne were banned from ringside for the bout but ultimately it was another rival of Danielson’s that proved pivotal.
With Big Bill distracting the referee, Ricky Starks nailed Danielson in the head with the AEW Tag Team Championship belt to allow Christian Cage to pick up the tainted victory.
