Brock Lesnar Squashing John Cena Possibly Related To WWE WarGames
Not everyone was happy with Brock Lesnar’s squash victory over John Cena at Wrestlepalooza.
The buildup for their match began at SummerSlam.
After Cena’s grueling match against Cody Rhodes, where Cena lost the Undisputed WWE Championship, Lesnar’s music hit, taking everyone by surprise.
This was the 48-year-old’s first appearance in WWE in over two years. Lesnar sauntered to the ring before hitting the 17-time World Champion with an F5.
While not many fans expected John Cena to defeat Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza, they wished for him to go toe-to-toe with Lesnar, considering the nature of their rivalry.
However, The Beast Incarnate dominated the majority of the match and ended it in just under 9 minutes.
Brock Lesnar Squashing John Cena Possibly Tied To WarGames
Sam Roberts of Notsam Wrestling believes that the squash may be tied to WWE WarGames, as he tried to make sense of it on a recent podcast.
I think that it is important to note that when Brock left after his SummerSlam match with Roman Reigns, that Brock was changed, right? Brock lost his war with Roman Reigns. Brock lost the war with Cody Rhodes. Brock was in an attraction match, not a main event match, an attraction match at WrestleMania 39. Brock was not the same Brock that Roman Reigns faced at WrestleMania 38. Brock was not that destroyer that Brock had been.
And to those that question why Brock Lesnar beat John Cena at Wrestlepalooza, I think that this is why. I think that the reason why is so Brock can step up to the plate and for however long he’s gonna be here, go back to being that Brock, that Brock that is a threat to everybody on the roster so that when somebody beats Brock, they get the same rub that John Cena just put on Brock. There is no way you can tell me that it’s the same Brock.
The Brock before he beat the streak was not the same Brock after he beat the streak. The Brock that squashed John Cena after he beat the streak was not the same Brock before he squashed John Cena. And the Brock that squashed John Cena at Wrestlepalooza, going into that was a different Brock Lesnar than leaving that because it had happened. Everybody, there is nobody that can squash a guy like John Cena and go, “Well, he didn’t need it. It’s the same either way.” It’s not the same either way. [5:08 onwards]
Brock Lesnar will be seen next at Survivor Series: WarGames on November 29.
