Update On Why Brock Lesnar Returned At WWE Raw Season Premiere

Brock Lesnar made his triumphant return to WWE on the Raw Season Premiere and a new report provides some information as to why it happened.

Bobby Lashley was in the ring doing a pre-match promo prior to his US Title defense against Seth “Freakin” Rollins on the October 10th Season Premiere of Raw in Brooklyn. That’s when Brock Lesnar appeared unadvertised on Raw as he circled the ring with Lashley inside of it.

The fans gave Lesnar a thunderous ovation. Lesnar: “Well, holy s**t!” Lesnar said good evening to Brooklyn and good evening to Bobby Lashley. When Lashley held up his US Title, Lesnar picked him up and hit an F5. Lesnar followed up with a German Suplex and another F5. Lesnar also applied the Kimura Lock submission to Lashley’s left arm.

After Lesnar left, Lashley would end up losing the US Title to Seth “Freakin” Rollins in under three minutes due to Lesnar’s attack.

It was reported by Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast/Wrestling Observer that USA Network officials are happy with the direction of Raw under Triple H’s guidance as the Chief Content Officer while adding that part of the reason Lesnar was there is because Bray Wyatt was not.

“USA Network and WWE are both very happy with the direction of Raw.”

“Lesnar returning on the show felt like a ‘make good’ to many at USA for not having Bray on Raw following the buzz from Extreme Rules.”

Wyatt generated a lot of buzz after returning to WWE at Extreme Rules. It was Wyatt’s first time on WWE since he was released by the company in July 2021. WWE has advertised Wyatt appearing on this Friday’s Smackdown, but he was not on Raw.

As for Lesnar, it’s likely that Lesnar will face Lashley at the upcoming Crown Jewel Premium Live Event on November 5th because Lesnar is usually one of the big stars on WWE’s shows when they go to Saudi Arabia. When Lesnar last faced Lashley at the Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman screwed Lesnar out of the win.

The last time Lesnar had a match in WWE was at the July 30th SummerSlam event when he lost the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match to Roman Reigns, who got some help from The Usos. That was a Last Man Standing Match where Lesnar memorably used a huge tractor to move the ring during the match.
