Brock Lesnar Squashed John Cena To Potentially Elevate WWE Star
Brock Lesnar absolutely demolished John Cena at Wrestlepalooza on September 20, 2025, in a match that shocked many fans.
Lesnar came out aggressive and controlled the entire match, hitting Cena with multiple F-5s and finishing off with a brutal display of power. This wasn’t just another win for Lesnar.
Why Brock Lesnar Decimated John Cena At Wrestlepalooza?
Sam Roberts, on his NotSam Wrestling podcast, shared an interesting take on why Brock Lesnar beat John Cena so decisively at WrestlePalooza. According to Roberts, the loss could be setting up Bron Breaker as the big future star in WWE.
The idea is that Bronn Breaker could eventually beat Lesnar, giving him a massive indirect win over one of the biggest names in wrestling history, i.e., Cena. This boost would elevate Breaker’s status in the company and cement him as a top-tier star going forward.
Roberts mentioned that Bron Breaker shouldn’t be part of Cena’s retirement tournament, because his big breakthrough moments should come from defeating The Beast Incarnate.
“Why did Brock Lesnar beat John Cena? I want the answer to that question to be so that Bron Breaker could beat Brock Lesnar instead of having John Cena’s final match next year. I want Bron Breaker to beat Brock Lesnar. And that’s how Bron Breaker gets that Cena rub because he gets the Cena rub and the Lesnar rub if he beats this version of Brock Lesnar. So, no Bron Breaker in this tournament.” (From 16:49)
In another episode of his NotSam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts pitched Bron Breakker to face Lesnar at WrestleMania next year.
I don’t see a path for Bron Breaker to get a match with John Cena. I’d prefer Bron Breaker to be the one that faces Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania because then you’re building somebody else. And now, eventually, you’ve got a scenario where maybe you could do Gunther versus Brock Lesnar. You could also do Gunther versus Braun Breaker after Braun Breaker has been the one guy that can beat this version of Brock Lesnar. (From 5:35)
