Bret Hart’s Interviews “Poor At Best” Says WWE Hall Of Famer
WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts didn’t mince words when it came to his criticism of Bret Hart’s career, both in and out of the ring.
Roberts is known for his ability to capture an audience’s attention with his promo skills, but he doesn’t believe the same to be true of Hart. During a recent Q&A episode of his Snake Pit podcast, Roberts was asked the age old question: who was a better worker between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart? Roberts answered that he believed Shawn was a better performer as he saw Hart as “dull.”
“Neither. What for? Better performer? Shawn. Bret just gets dull at times. His interviews aren’t up to par, I don’t think, to what they should be for what position he held. I think his interviews were poor, at best.”
When asked to clarify if he wasn’t a fan of either man’s in-ring work, Roberts accused both men of doing too many moves in their matches and not selling enough. He also made the bold claim that he didn’t see Hart as a champion despite his many accolades.
“They were part of that era that quit selling things, you know, and just did everything. I will give it to Bret that he did wrestle a lot more than Shawn. Bret to me just, oh boy, I’m gonna get myself in trouble here. He just wasn’t a champion to me. There I said it. Neither one of them.”
While Roberts might not be a fan of Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels, he does have high praise for his on-screen ally Lance Archer. In fact, he recently explained why he believes Archer deserves a run with a championship in AEW.
