Bret Hart On AEW’s MJF: “Who is that?”

MJF entrance AEW Dynamite

Bret Hart apparently has no clue who MJF is.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman has been signed with AEW since 2019, serving as the brand’s World Champion once.

The incident occurred when The Hitman spoke on the Johnny I Pro Show, while attending the anniversary of the Montreal Screwjob in Montreal recently.

The 68-year-old WWE great speculated about the possible storylines he could have been a part of had the ‘screwjob’ not happened. He also admitted that he could have worked with John Cena at some point.

Boy, if the Screwjob had never happened and I had stayed in WWF, that match with John Cena would’ve happened. We would’ve done amazing stuff together. I’ve always been really impressed by John Cena. [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]

At some point during the chat, a fan in attendance yelled MJF, which confused Hart. When informed that MJF was a wrestler in AEW, he revealed that he doesn’t watch a lot of wrestling these days.

Who? MJF? Who is that? — Just curious though, who is it? — AEW wrestler? — As you can tell, I don’t watch a lot anymore.

It’s unknown if Bret Hart’s reaction was genuine or not, but regardless, it has got wrestling fans talking.

MJF Returning To AEW Soon

MJF’s last AEW appearance was at All Out, where he lost to Mark Briscoe in a Tables ‘N Tacks match.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old has also been contemplating an acting career, and was last seen in Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to Adam Sandler’s 1996 hit.

During his latest absence from TV, he has been reportedly filming scenes for his upcoming film, Violent Night 2.

The company’s president Tony Khan recently discussed Friedman’s return while speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show.

I expect Max to be back hopefully very soon. Max is somebody who has been a huge part of why this has been a great year and even though he hasn’t been available every single week, I think he’s done some really great things in and out of the ring this year.
