Bray Wyatt’s Vision As A Character Praised By WWE Legend

A WWE Hall of Famer has praised Bray Wyatt’s vision as a character.

Windham Rotunda brought Wyatt to life with his intense storytelling and in-ring versatility.

He was often reported as trying to pitch new angles to the writers to add more depth to the role as a way of retaining longevity for a character deeply cherished by the fans.

Unfortunately, Bray Wyatt died in August 2023, aged 36, leaving the wrestling world stunned.

Paul Heyman, who is currently also promoting WWE 2K25, appeared on CBS Sports and shared his view of Rodunda and his character Bray Wyatt.

He understood that character and the characters that were all built within the character, better than anybody else. Better than any producer, writer, director that we had on staff or someone else from the outside.

Apart from acting as a cult leader, Bray Wyatt also transitioned between The Fiend and the host of the “Firefly Fun House.”

Anyone that I know who has been in a creative capacity in this or any other industry would tell you, ‘Don’t do that. Whatever you do, don’t do that.’ In fact, that’s the last thing you should do. Why would you allow the vulnerabilities of that character to be shown, especially at this moment upon your return? Yet he did it. With such authenticity that he made us all look bad by saying, ‘What’s he doing? Why would he do this?’ Because he’s so committed.

It’s a body of work that has yet to be truly examined. Years from now, when we look back and start to micro dissect what he did, I think we’ll realize he’s even far more brilliant than any of us ever realized, Heyman concluded. [H/T CBS Sports]

WWE Wrestler Shares Priceless Advice From Bray Wyatt

Despite portraying an interesting character and in-ring performer, Aleister Black has never received due consideration from WWE writers.

The former NXT Champion shared that he received advice from Bray Wyatt during one of his struggling days with the company.

I miss Bray, so much. I grabbed my phone the other day and I was scrolling through my messages and I found one of my old conversations with him. I used to send him these messages with ideas and stuff, and one of the last things he ever said to me was, ‘Don’t let them tell you who you are. Stand for what you stand for.’

At the time, I was mentally not doing great. I was like, ‘This idea, that idea, what do you think I should go with?’ He’s like, ‘It doesn’t matter. Just don’t let them tell you what you need to do. You’ll know what you need to do. Stand your ground and don’t let them shake you into something you don’t feel comfortable with. This is who you are and what you do, so stick to it.’

That is relevant today, in certain aspects. Sometimes you have to fight for what you believe in, and sometimes you have to let it go. In certain aspects, some of that is still true to this day. It’s one of the last things we spoke about and it’s still one of the most truest things, he said.

Aleister Black is currently involved in a feud with Damian Priest on SmackDown.
