Bookies Pull WWE Match As Elimination Chamber Shock Expected

Expect the unexpected in WWE and there could be something very unexpected on the way with a shock name expected to now win the Elimination Chamber.

The winner of the women’s Elimination Chamber will challenge Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Title at WrestleMania 41 while the winner of the men’s Chamber match will face Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship. Ripley’s challenger seems less certain but for months now John Cena has been expected to win the Chamber and attempt to win his 17th world title on the grandest stage of them all.

But plans change.

WWE Elimination Chamber Winner Changed At The Last Hurdle?

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that the bookmakers have stopped taking bets on the men’s Chamber match after a huge influx of bets came in on Drew McIntyre suggesting he was now the man to win the match and face Rhodes at WrestleMania:

Did you hear the men’s Elimination Chamber match has been taken off the boards by BetOnline? John Cena was the heavy, heavy, heavy favourite, obviously he was the planned winner. That’s not a secret. For whatever reason there was a ton of betting that came in on Drew and Drew was a huge underdog that nobody thought would win. So the odds for people who bet on him stand to take a lot of money so they took him off the board.

Cody and Drew was absoloutely, when [Drew was moved to SmackDown], the reason he was moved was to do a program with Cody. I did not expect it at WrestleMania and obviously I don’t know that it is or anything like that.

Cody Rhodes will have to answer The Rock at Elimination Chamber after The Final Boss told Rhodes that he wanted his soul. The Rock gave Rhodes gifts to end SmackDown ahead of the Chamber event but it’s not the first time he’s dished out presents.

Drew McIntyre re-signed with WWE in 2024 and revealed The Rock had given the former WWE Champion a very special gift. Perhaps there is more to McIntyre’s potential win than meets the eye.
