Booker T Thinks WWE “Missed The Moment” At WrestleMania
While many wrestling fans were wondering what WWE was thinking by not having Cody Rhodes finish his story at WrestleMania 39, Booker T was left lamenting another big loss from Sunday night’s show.
Rhodes might have ended the night with Roman Reigns in the main event, but Sunday’s portion of WrestleMania kicked off with Brock Lesnar facing perhaps the biggest challenge of his career as he faced the gigantic Omos.
Everything’s relative when you’re The Conqueror however and Lesnar managed to see off Omos in less than five minutes as he proved his dominance again.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T explained that he thinks – despite Lesnar clearly being an obstacle for Rhodes going forwards – that WWE missed the chance to create something very special with Omos:
“To have someone like Brock Lesnar to help him [Omos] grow, I thought that could’ve been a good thing but obviously they’ve got other plans, with Brock, you know, doing the thing with Cody Rhodes.
“Maybe Brock and Cody look like they’re gonna mix it up. Cody may have to go through Brock to go to the next level — I get it. But I did think that was a moment that we could’ve really made Omos the ‘ultimate giant.’ Yeah, I think we missed the moment.”
On the night after WrestleMania 39 on Raw, Brock Lesnar appeared to be willing to team up with Cody Rhodes to take on The Bloodline duo of Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. However, moments before the match started, The Beast Incarnate showed his real plan when he attacked Rhodes, brutally decimating him for ten minutes to end the show.
Cody Rhodes recovered to appear on Raw in Seattle where he laid down a very big challenge to Lesnar for Backlash in Puerto Rico on the 6th of May.
