Booker T Thinks Something’s Missing From Carmelo Hayes
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T thinks there might be something missing from the game of NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes.
Carmelo Hayes ascended to the top of the developmental brand when he defeated Bron Breakker for the NXT Championship back at Stand & Deliver in April 2023. Since then Hayes has held on to his title against Breakker as well as Noam Dar and Grayson Waller as his popularity with the fans grows each week.
In response to a question regarding Carmelo Hayes on his Hall of Fame podcast, NXT commentator Booker T agreed that something is still missing from the top talent:
“I can agree with you as far as something being missing as well. Maybe it’s just having that ability to go out and just beat up somebody flawlessly. Wrestling someone is one thing, but going out and beating the guy up is something totally different. Carmelo maybe needs to think about raising his game as far as that goes.
“He’s a diamond in the rough that just needs to be polished. It’s nothing missing it’s just that they’re growing and they’re learning.”
Hayes missed out on a call-up to the main roster in the recent WWE Draft and he looks set to continue to make his name in NXT for the time being.
