Bobby Lashley And The Street Profits Teaming Up At WWE Fastlane

The trio of Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits will team up for the first time at WWE’s Fastlane Premium Live Event.

Over the past few months, a new alliance has been formed on the WWE Smackdown brand that has seen the former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley working with former WWE Tag Team Champions The Street Profits – Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins.

Since they started working together, The Street Profits have started wearing suits (a big chance for Dawkins, not so much for Ford) because of Lashley’s influence and also shown a more aggressive.

This past Friday on Smackdown, The Street Profits were trying to impress Lashley after he was mad at Dawkins for failing to beat Rey Mysterio in a tag team match one week prior. Lashley wanted them to prove themselves to him.

After Rey Mysterio beat Santos Escobar in an entertaining US Title match, The Street Profits beat up both guys in the LWO. They also beat up the LWO’s Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro including a Cash Out double team move on Wilde.

Later in the show, the LWO was in the trainer’s room where they challenged Lashley and The Street Profits to a match at Fastlane, which is next Saturday, October 7th.

WWE Officials make Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits in a six-man tag team match official

On Saturday’s edition of the WWE Smackdown Lowdown, the match became official. Bobby Lashley will team up with The Street Profits against Rey Mysterio, Santos Escobar and one more member of the Latino World Order.

Based on the graphic below from WWE’s website, it could be Joaquin Wilde who is wrestling in the match since he appears in wrestling gear while Del Toro does not. However, it’s not official at the moment.

An interesting stat about the match is that it will be Lashley’s first televised match since the May 12th edition of Smackdown. Lashley did wrestle a few live event matches in June, but otherwise has been kept out of the ring. It’s not known if he was nursing an injury or if WWE simply gave the 47-year-old future Hall of Famer some time off from wrestling.

There are three other matches announced for Fastlane.

World Heavyweight Championship: Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (Last Man Standing Match)

John Cena & LA Knight vs. Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa

WWE Women’s Championship: IYO SKY vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka

There will likely be more matches announced on Monday’s Raw, which is the final Raw before Fastlane.
