Bobby Lashley Addresses The Rock Possibly Returning To WWE
Bobby Lashley has given his thoughts on The Rock’s potential WWE return while admitting that he doesn’t know anything about it.
With the Royal Rumble coming less than a week away, there is a lot of speculation about The Rock’s possible WWE return perhaps at the Royal Rumble event itself or at WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
In the latest update on The Rock’s heavily rumored WWE return, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has indicated that The Rock may not be competing in the ring at all due to not having enough time to get in proper ring shape for a match against his cousin Roman Reigns.
The Rock’s last actual match was ten years ago when he lost the WWE TItle to John Cena in the WrestleMania 29 main event. The Rock suffered multiple injuries in that match as well. Three years later, The Rock beat Erick Rowan in his last official WWE “match” but it was just a Rock Bottom without taking any bumps.
Bobby Lashley was interviewed recently by Sportskeeda’s Wrestle Binge and said that The Rock being back in WWE would bring a lot of notoriety to WWE.
“What would it mean to the company? The Rock is a huge star. So, of course, if he comes back, it’s going to bring a lot of notoriety to us, and being in Hollywood this year, I think there would be a good opportunity that he may be back.”
As he continued, Bobby Lashley admitted that he didn’t know if The Rock will be back.
“I don’t know. I have been asked several times if The Rock is coming back. We don’t know anything. I don’t even know what I’m doing next week. I can’t really tell you what The Rock is doing, but of course, everybody would love to see The Rock. He’s a huge star. So if he comes back, it’ll be good for all of us.”
As for Lashley’s future, he will challenge Austin Theory for the US Title on the January 23rd edition of Raw that’s celebrating 30 years of Raw. It is also believed that Lashley’s former stable known as The Hurt Business will be back together very soon.
