Wrestling Veteran Says Billy Gunn’s Scissoring Act Is Getting Stale

Billy Gunn scissoring himself

Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed might be captivating audiences worldwide with their scissoring antics but one wrestling veteran thinks the act is getting old.

Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed have become one of the most popular acts in AEW with the duo of Anthony Bowens and Max Caster finding success while aligned with the tag team legend. The Acclaimed captured the AEW World Tag Team Championship for the first time in their career from Swerve In Our Glory at Dynamite Grand Slam in September.

Since then the good times continue to roll for the trio whose antics continue to get the loudest crowd reactions on the show as fans can’t wait to scream along with them: “Scissor me Daddy Ass!”

But for former WCW star Konnan, he thinks the whole thing is getting a bit “stupid.” Speaking on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, the former WCW US Champion said he thinks the act could be getting old already:

“I love when they [The Acclaimed] come out, their beat. And then the guys rapping, right, always has good lines, you know? The other guy acts like a stupid butt I’m OK with it. I just always think, what is Billy doing with these guys? He looks so out of place. He looks like he’s having fun, but he looks so out of place.”

“Dude, I thought this dragged, you know, I thought it was kind of stupid. How many times can you say scissor me and daddy scissors? This could be over quick, they’re going to the well too many times.”

Konnan might want to keep in mind that Billy Gunn’s former group in WWE – DX – were unhappy at missing the star at their recent Raw reunion to celebrate 25 years of grown men pointing at their crotch and yelling “suck it.” Scissoring might have some way to go yet.
