Update: Billy Gunn Could Potentially Appear On DX 25th Anniversary Raw
Are you ready? Billy Gunn appears to be.
On the October 10 edition of Raw, WWE is planning a reunion of D-Generation X, celebrating their 25th year anniversary as a faction. The Barclays Center – the home of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets in New York City – is also advertising the event.
Posting a video to promote the DX reunion, it features members Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Road Dogg and X-Pac. All three of Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Road Dogg currently work for WWE in executive positions, with Sean Waltman (X-Pac), who is on good terms with WWE, offering himself to the company for the event – they accepted.

However, one former member of the Attitude Era stable wouldn’t be featured on the video: AEW’s Billy Gunn.
Original reports had Billy Gunn being left out of the celebration due to his ties to All Elite Wrestling and The Acclaimed. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, on the other hand, gave some clarity on the Gunn situation, saying that he could be a part of the celebration after all.
Though Meltzer did give more confirmation to Gunn not physically appearing in Brooklyn, he did say that the possibility is there for Gunn to record a video for D-Generation X’s 25th anniversary.
Appearing on AdFreeShows.com, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman also chimed in on the upcoming Raw event, as well as the possibility of Billy Gunn also showing up for the DX reunion alongside him and his fellow stable members, saying that a possible return of “Mr. Ass,” at least for one night, isn’t “completely out of the question.”
“I don’t think it’s impossible or completely out of the question, but it seems like…the whole idea of it might have been more probable a couple of months ago.”
Since 2019, Billy Gunn has been under contract with AEW as both a coach and occasional in-ring talent. He’s currently a part of The Acclaimed faction, who currently holds the AEW World Tag Team Championships. On AEW’s October 5 Dynamite, Gunn will partake in the stable’s National Scissoring Day.
Gunn last appeared in WWE in 2019 as a member of D-Generation X when the legendary faction was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Representing DX was Gunn, Sean Waltman, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Road Dogg and the late Chyna. During the Hall of Fame celebration, Triple H famously spoke down on Gunn, referring to his new employer AEW as a “pissant company.”
