Billy Gunn Says AEW Has Tried To Bring In DX Legend

According to Billy Gunn, Tony Khan has tried to bring a D-Generation X legend to AEW.

Billy Gunn has shared that AEW has looked to secure one of his former DX stable mates and reunite the pair.

Gunn has been working closely with The Acclaimed over the past year, choosing to manage the pair and move away from his sons, The Gunns.

During this time fans have enjoyed the catchphrase “Scissor Me Daddy Ass” and have given the former WWE Superstar a career resurgence.

Fans may could see another DX legend in AEW roster after Gunn has admitted the company has tried to use Sean “X-Pac” Waltman.

The WWE Hall of Famer appeared on Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge and shared insight that Waltman has been approached and that he would be a “great asset” to AEW.

“I don’t know if that’s the thing right now, because I think you’d be hard-pressed to get Tony to get me away from The Acclaimed right now,”

“No, I mean, it would be great. I think we’ve tried to get Sean in here a couple of times. Things just didn’t work out.

I think if the time’s right, I think he would be a great asset because he still has huge popularity, everybody knows him, and he’s such a good guy that he would not only help the younger talent as well as be a good representative for our company.

He’d be amazing if we could get him in here.”

Both Sean Waltman and Billy Gunn joined D-Generation X the night after WrestleMania 14, after Triple H declared he was now the group’s leader.

According to a WWE Hall of Famer, DX would not have lasted had it not been for the return of Sean Waltman.

During Raw Is War on Monday 30th March 1998, Sean Waltman made a shock return to the company he left in 1996.

Later that night, the WWE Tag Team Champions Billy Gunn and Road Dog Jesse James joined the group after disposing of Terry Funk and Mick Foley.

D-Generation X were entered into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019.
