Big E Reflects On Narrowly Escaping Worse Consequences From Neck Injury
Following his first doctor’s appointment since his neck injury, Big E has opened up on narrowly avoiding “a stroke, paralysis or death”.
On the March 11th edition of SmackDown, Big E teamed up with Kofi Kingston to take on Sheamus and Ridge Holland.
When Big E fell to the outside, he was followed by Ridge Holland who landed a Belly to Belly Suplex on the New Day star. Unfortunately, instead of turning all the way over and landing on his back, Big E landed on his head and neck.
Commentary confirmed that the former WWE Champion was being tended to by medics, and he was later taken out of the arena on a stretcher.
Following the show, Big E posted a video on Twitter to confirm that he had broken his neck. He has since provided a more positive update, revealing that the injuries had happened in such a way that he won’t require surgery.
However, the star has revealed on social media that during his first doctor’s appointment since the injury, he learned that his C1 fracture could have led to something much worse. He reflected that the sobering news makes life feel even more precious.
“Had my first doctor’s appointment and learning (because of the C1 fracture) I narrowly escaped a stroke, paralysis or death is very sobering. Life feels even more precious and valuable now.”
