Becky Lynch Thinks WWE’s Women Held To Different Standard Than Men

Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch isn’t going anywhere.

In recent weeks and months, questions have begun to emerge regarding WWE’s women’s division. Although not the case across the board, there have been suggestions among some fans that the likes of Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Bayley should accept a reduced role moving forward to allow younger talent to shine.

Those calls only increased after Becky Lynch returned at WrestleMania and Charlotte Flair engaged in a controversial rivalry with Tiffany Stratton.

During an appearance on WWE’s Raw Recap show, Lynch hit back at suggestions she’d used her political influence to keep her spot and appear at WrestleMania. In response to being given the “Becky Hogan” nickname by a section of fans online, Lynch branded Hulk Hogan the “scummiest person on Earth.”

Becky Lynch Has Questions

As she continued, Lynch highlighted that WWE’s female stars appear to be held to a different standard compared to their male counterparts. The former Women’s World Champion questioned why there are calls for her to move aside while veterans such as her husband, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk still feature at the top of the card.

“Look at the men’s (division.) Who you got that’s hot and young over there? No, you’ve got a bunch of old lads. And nobody’s saying nothing. Nobody’s saying, ‘Move over CM Punk, move over Seth Rollins’. Nobody’s saying that but they’ll say it to me. So, who’s the bad guy? Why am I supposed to move over?”

Meanwhile, Shelton Benjamin has hit out at Hulk Hogan after he got his name wrong in an interview, not once, but twice. Benjamin called out Hoagn after being referred to as “Benjamin Shelton,” while pointing to his non-apology for using racist language in 2018. The AEW star told Hogan to “keep my name out of your f*cking mouth.”
