Becky Lynch Wants Title Vs. Title Match Against Rhea Ripley At WrestleMania 40

Becky Lynch Rhea Ripley

Becky Lynch is prepared to gamble at WrestleMania.

Lynch is currently reigning as the NXT Women’s Champion and will defend the title in an Extreme Rules match against Tiffany Stratton at No Mercy on September 30th. Looking ahead to the biggest event on WWE’s calendar, The Man already has an opponent in mind.

Speaking with USA Today Sports, Lynch revealed that she would like to face Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley in Philadelphia and is willing to risk losing her championship in the process:

“Maybe it will be championship for championship, winner takes all. We’ll see,”

Lynch and Ripley have faced each other one-on-one multiple times on house shows, but have only had one televised singles match. Taking place on NXT in 2019, the match ended in a no-contest when Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke ran down to the ring to attack both competitors. This episode of NXT was the go-home show for the Survivor Series that featured a 3-way war between Raw, SmackDown and NXT.

Becky Lynch Successful At WrestleMania 35

Lynch is all too familiar with competing on the grandest stage in WWE and having championship success in the process. The biggest match of The Man’s career came at WrestleMania 35 when Lynch faced Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey in the main event. Also a winner take all match, Lynch would pin Rousey to walk out of Metlife Stadium with the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships, earning her the nickname of Becky Two Belts.

In an interview ahead of No Mercy, Becky Lynch revealed how she felt heading into the history-making match at WrestleMania.
