Becky Lynch Thinks Rhea Ripley’s Viral Video “F**king Sucks”

Rhea Ripley may have gotten a lot of attention for a viral video from a WWE live event, but Becky Lynch was not a fan of it.

During a WWE live event on March 22nd, Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley successfully defended her title against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. While Ripley winning a match is no surprise, there was a moment that got a lot of attention online.

Nia Jax has been known to do her version of The Stinkface move that Rikishi made popular in the Attitude Era when he would shove his large ass into the face of his opponent against the turnbuckle.

In that live event match, Rhea Ripley decided to hike up her shorts very tightly so that her shapely posterior was more visible and she gave Jax a Stinkface against the ropes. Due to Ripley’s popularity and impressive physique, the videos of that Stinkface were seen by millions all over social media and websites covering WWE.

Becky Lynch will face Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 40 for Ripley’s Women’s World Title. It won’t be their first matchup, but it is their first match since Ripley became a main event performer like Lynch and it’s a match that will be one of the most highly anticipated matches at this year’s WrestleMania.

When asked by Steve Fall of WrestlingNewsco about Ripley’s cheeky showing, Lynch made it clear she didn’t like it.

“That just sucks that we’re talking about that. You know, like when I think of the amount of women that were at one stage, fighting against that treatment, like, that was what they were forced to do in two-minute matches. Maybe I’m just like stuffy and and jaded because this is the stuff that I had to fight against. Of course, everybody loves it, and it’s cool and it’s edgy.”

“But if I’m a little girl sitting in the crowd, and if I have my daughter, and she’s seeing that and she’s thinking that that’s what she needs to be if she’s a professional wrestler. And that’s the stuff that’s getting a reaction and if I’m a girl who’s grown up and wants to be a professional wrestler, and I see, ‘oh well that’s the stuff that gets a reaction.'”

“And that’s the stuff that people are talking about. And that’s the stuff that we’re posting on social media, and we continue to and even the company does and pushes that, then that is the stuff that gets over and then I’m not taken seriously for what I do in the ring. And for the person that I am in the mind that I have.”

“No, it’s just about my body. It’s about how it looks. And it’s about fulfilling a bunch of men’s fantasies out there in the crowd, and it becomes not about the art it becomes about that. And I’ve fought so long to change that and so I kind of go when I’m talking about that, and when I’m forced to answer about that, I go that just f**king sucks. That just f**king sucks.”

Does Becky Lynch Have A Specific Match Placement Request For WrestleMania 40 Showdown?

While Becky Lynch did main event WrestleMania 35 five years ago, she won’t be in that spot this year. The WrestleMania 40 Night 1 main event will feature The Rock & Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes & Lynch’s husband Seth Rollins while Night 2 will be Reigns against Rhodes.

What Lynch would like to do against Ripley is go on first because the opening match is always very exciting with a hot crowd on any kind of PLE/PPV event.

“I would love to open the show. I would love that. I’ve never opened WrestleMania before.”

“And to open this one, as big as it is in Philadelphia, I’m just putting that out there (laughs). It would be pretty cool because if it’s not the main event, I always want to be the opening spot — it’s always a great place on the card because people are so excited.”

You can watch WrestleMania 40 on April 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, streaming LIVE on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else.
