Becky Lynch Calls Recent WWE Release “Heartbreaking”

A recent WWE talent release was heartbreaking for Becky Lynch.

As one of WWE’s biggest stars, Becky Lynch is very outspoken and honest about everything that she does. The proud Irishwoman is known as “The Man” to WWE fans and has built a legacy as one of the greatest female superstars in company history.

In January, WWE released commentator Kevin Patrick from the company after pulling him off commentary duties. Patrick started working for WWE in 2021 as a host and backstage interviewer before the company tried him in a play-by-play role on Raw and Smackdown.

While talking to Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg, Lynch said she was heartbroken about Patrick being released because he is also Irish.

“Yeah, it was. It was. It was heartbreaking. We all loved him. We loved him. I love him. He’s great, and he’s so great, and he was always working so hard. He would always find you, ‘What do you want me do talk about? Let me take all these notes.’”

“He was always asking and always asking trying to improve and trying to get better and tell the best story, and that goes a long way too, that he cared enough to always be doing that. He was great.”

While Lynch is sad about Patrick no longer being a part of WWE, Kevin Egan (his real name) says he has landed his dream job as the host of MLS 360 on Apple TV and the Apple TV App since Kevin is a huge fan of soccer/football.

Becky Lynch Wants To Be In Opening Match At WrestleMania 40

At WrestleMania 40, Becky Lynch will challenge Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Title in one of the biggest matches at the show. While it’s not a “dream match” since they have wrestled in the past, it is a big match since it has been building for the past year on the Raw brand. As for where she wants her match to be, Becky Lynch would love to open WrestleMania 40.

“I’m not worried about card order. I would love to open the show. I would love that. I’ve never opened WrestleMania before.

And to open this one, as big as it is in Philadelphia, I’m just putting that out there (laughs). It would be pretty cool because if it’s not the main event, I always want to be the opening spot — it’s always a great place on the card because people are so excited.”

In the interview, Lynch also said she would like her match to go on early so that she could take care of what she needs to after the match so that she can watch her husband Seth “Freakin” Rollins in the WrestleMania 40 Night 1 main event.

Becky Lynch is going into WrestleMania 40 with a lot of momentum after winning the Elimination Chamber match and finally beating Nia Jax in a Last Woman Standing match on the March 18th episode of Raw.
