Becky Lynch is aiming for the top at WrestleMania 40 as she eyes up WWE gold and a possible main event on the grandest stage of them all.
Becky Lynch made history when she became the first woman to win a WrestleMania main event back in 2019 when she defeated Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey to become the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion.
With the Royal Rumble only a few short weeks away, several stars are already thinking about their road to WrestleMania and it seems Becky Lynch has a dream opponent in mind for that event.
Speaking on Strutting From Gorilla, Becky Lynch was asked which other women in WWE she has her eye on and there was only one name at the top of that list – Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley:
There are so many talented up and comers. One match that we haven’t gotten to yet, numero uno on the docket is I’ve got to shut up Nia Jax, first. We haven’t had that match, which is unbelievable to think that Nia Jax and I haven’t gone one-on-one in a WWE ring, but it’s true.
Then, there is the next stop, which is taking the title off Rhea Ripley. That title, when I hold that title, that title is the main event of every show. Her title has been seen in many main events, but not because she’s been defending it, no, just because she’s being the accompaniment to the main event. I can’t have that. I’m sick of that. I’m sick of that and I’m going to take that title back off her, preferably at WrestleMania.
Becky Lynch To Take On Old Enemy
Becky Lynch will have to get through Nia Jax at WWE Day 1 Raw on New Year’s Day 2024 as the two women look to settle a score that stretches back to 2018.
Jax famously nailed Lynch in the face with a live round during the SmackDown invasion of Raw ahead of Survivor Series that year. The image of Becky Lynch with her face covered in blood became iconic and set a fire of support underneath her that led to that WrestleMania 39 main event.
