Becky Lynch Looking For A Long Time Out From WWE
Becky Lynch is hurtling towards free agency as her current WWE contract nears its end and it seems it might be quite some time before fans see her anywhere again.
Becky Lynch lost the Women’s World Championship to Liv Morgan at King & Queen of the Ring thanks to some unlikely help for Morgan from Dominik Mysterio.
On Raw, the two women met again in a Steel Cage match with the gold on the line and again Mysterio proved the difference maker as he was pushed into the cage door which slammed into Becky Lynch which allowed Morgan to win. After the match, Liv Morgan planted a shocking kiss on Dominik Mysterio as questions swirl about the true nature of their relationship.
All of this took place against the backdrop of Becky Lynch hurtling towards free agency. Lynch’s current WWE deal is believed to be up on June 1st with no new deal signed between The Man and WWE.
PWTorch reported that it doesn’t look like Becky Lynch is set to sign a new deal with WWE immediately. However, the report notes that according to what she’s told people in the company she’s not heading to AEW either. And now it seems she might be keeping a low profile in wrestling for quite a while.
Becky Lynch Looking For A Long Rest From WWE Ring
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave the latest insight into the situation and suggested Lynch’s hiatus from the ring could last quite some time:
Becky Lynch didn’t renew. Becky Lynch is taking an extended leave. From what I was told it’s not a short period of time, she was looking for a long period of time out.
It’s probably – if he’s (Lynch’s husband Seth Rollins who is currently out injured) not on the road, it makes sense for her not to be on the road. They can’t be hurting for money where they need it right now, maybe she’s looking at other things or maybe she’s not. She’ll be a free agent in a couple of days from now.
Seth Rollins recently signed a new WWE contract as his deal with the company also got very close to its end before a new one was signed.
