Why Becky Lynch Isn’t Signing New WWE Or AEW Deal For Now
Becky Lynch is heading towards free agency as her WWE deal nears its end but it seems she’s in no hurry to sign a contract with anyone.
At King & Queen of the Ring, Becky Lynch defended the Women’s World Championship against Liv Morgan. Dominik Mysterio had warned that he was going to stop Morgan from winning the title he believes is still rightfully Rhea Ripley’s. But things didn’t go as planned.
Mysterio tried to slide a chair to Lynch during that match but the champion refused to use it. Liv Morgan took advantage and dropped Lynch with a DDT on the chair before hitting Oblivion to win the championship.
On Raw, the two women met again in a Steel Cage match with the gold on the line and again Mysterio proved the difference maker as he was pushed into the cage door which slammed into Becky Lynch which allowed Morgan to win. After the match, Liv Morgan planted a shocking kiss on Dominik Mysterio as questions swirl about the true nature of their relationship.
All of this took place against the backdrop of Becky Lynch hurtling towards free agency. Lynch’s current WWE deal is believed to be up on June 1st with no new deal signed between The Man and WWE.
Becky Lynch Set For Hiatus
Now PWTorch has reported that it doesn’t look like Becky Lynch is set to sign a new deal with WWE immediately. However, the report notes that according to what she’s told people in the company she’s not heading to AEW either.
Instead, Becky Lynch looks set to take a hiatus from the business but one colleague of Lynch’s did say they’re confident a deal will be struck and she will return to WWE.
Lynch’s husband Seth Rollins recently signed a new deal with WWE as the company also gave new deals to stars such as Finn Balor and Drew McIntyre.
