Becky Lynch Breaks Silence After Huge WWE Title Win
Becky Lynch says she just wants to make her daughter proud after a huge win on WWE Raw that saw her become the Women’s World Champion.
On Raw in Montreal, Rhea Ripley vacated her Women’s World Championship only to be taunted by Liv Morgan as a result. One report has given a likely timeline for Ripley’s return to the ring but it remains to be seen when the popular star will be back.
With the title vacated, WWE announced a battle royal for Raw in Columbus with the winner becoming the new Women’s World Champion.
Fourteen women entered the match which Nia Jax dominated in large patches. Things boiled down to Liv Morgan and Becky Lynch with The Man able to get the better of Morgan, nailing her with the Manhandle Slam on the apron which gave her the win.
“We Need At Least One Champ In The House” – Becky Lynch
Speaking in a Raw Exclusive, Becky Lynch explained how she felt capping off a hugely successful month for her by capturing the Women’s World Championship for the first time:
It feels great to hear [I’m the WWE Women’s World Champion]. I’ve never held this championship before. Look at it, it’s beautiful, it’s beautiful. Look, for the last few months, Rhea even said it, I’ve been burning the candle all out. I’ve been away from my daughter for weeks on end. Got myself a New York Times bestseller for a damn near month. But man, it’s worth it. It’s worth it because the words of my book are written on my gear. It reminds me why I do this, where I started, where I’ve gotten to. We’re just going up, baby.
Lynch was then asked whether she considered if her daughter Roux is now more aware of her success and said she just wants to make her little girl proud:
Everything that I do, I want to make her proud. I hope she’s proud. She did [stay up late to watch the match]. I got a text from my husband [Seth Rollins], who’s recovering from surgery. At all stages, we need at least one champ in the house, so I’m bringing it home, baby.
