Becky Lynch Named One Of The Best Ever Ahead Of WWE Clash In Paris

Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch has taken her place among the all-time greats.

At Clash In Paris, Nikki Bella will challenge Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Not only is it the first time that Bella will challenge for the title in question, but the first time that she’ll contend for championship gold of any kind since 2018.

Lynch won the title back at Money In The Bank after dispatching Lyra Valkyria.

Meanwhile, a new report has revealed the WWE Clash In Paris main event.

Nikki Bella Thinks Becky Lynch Is One Of The Greats

Looking ahead to her match with Lynch at Clash In Paris, in an interview with Sports Illustrated, Bella looked at her rival’s rise to the top. Although she said that Lynch always had potential, early in her career, she was overshadowed by the rest of WWE’s Four Horsewomen, Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks (Mercedes Mone), and Bayley.

“I did see potential, but I’ll admit it was definitely overshadowed. You couldn’t help but see what Charlotte Flair was doing, and then Sasha Banks. They were such standouts. Sasha was coming off that iconic match in NXT with Bayley, so your eyes were really on her. And then Charlotte Flair came in… and there was a lot of focus on her for the Divas Title.”

Bella went on to explain that being overshadowed earlier in her career likely only added to Lynch’s motivation to take the company by storm.

“Don’t tell her this, but I think she’s one of the greatest superstars ever. When some of us are overshadowed and held back, it gives us a certain kind of fire to prove ourselves… It’s almost like you need that story to give you a certain drive and motivation, because when you’re already proven out of the gate, where do you go from there?”

In the same conversation, Nikki Bella laid out why she decided to come back to WWE and resume her in-ring career. The Hall of Famer had initially retired in mid-2019 after doctors found a cyst on her brain. By that stage, she had already undergone major neck surgery.
