Bayley Compares WWE Evolution To Early NXT Days
Bayley stepped into the spotlight once again at WWE Evolution 2, opening the show in a triple-threat match for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
She battled Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria in a hard-fought contest that showcased the depth and talent of WWE’s women’s division. Despite hitting a decisive Rose Plant on Valkyria, the 36-year-old female star saw her chance at gold slip away when Lynch capitalized by pinning her to retain the title.
Bayley’s Tweet About NXT Days
Although the outcome didn’t go in her favor, Bayley was far from discouraged. The first-ever Women’s Grand Slam champion took to social media to reflect on what the night meant to her. In a heartfelt post, she compared the atmosphere at Evolution 2 to the magic of WWE’s early NXT era, a time and place where her career first found serious momentum.
“I cannot explain the feeling in the arena last night but it was reminiscent of the early NXT days for me,” she tweeted. “Some kind of magic and so full of love. Thank you to every person that showed up in support, and thank you all for watching. This picture sums up my night.”
The tweet struck a chord with fans who remembered Bayley’s rise during the black-and-gold era of NXT. Back then, she connected with the crowd through her underdog persona, forming memorable rivalries with the likes of Sasha Banks and Asuka.
