Bayley Opens Up About “Complicated” Relationship With WWE Stars

Bayley

Bayley has given fans a glimpse at life behind the scenes.

On the June 9 episode of Raw, Bayley made a surprise return to television, attacking Becky Lynch. The pair have been on a collision course since Lynch took out her one-time friend backstage at WrestleMania 41, before taking her spot in a tag team match alongside Lyra Valkyria.

Seven days later, Bayley addressed her comeback, telling fans she missed them and that Lynch’s attack had only made her stronger. During the promo, Lynch arrived on the scene and said she was more concerned about her legacy than “fake ass friends.”

At the end of the exchange, Lynch agreed to face her rival in the ring, but not in Green Bay on June 16.

Bayley Surprised By Lack Of Unity

With the issues between Bayley and Lynch back in the spotlight, the former appeared on the Raw Recap to set the record straight. The star revealed that she was never particularly close with fellow Horsewomen Charlotte Flair or Becky Lynch behind the scenes.

But despite that, she admitted she was surprised at the lack of camaraderie with Lynch, considering how they helped change women’s wrestling.

“I feel it’s a little complicated, it’s a very, like, sisterly, family type situation when it comes to the four of us. If I’m being quite honest, I’ve never really been close to Becky. I’ve never rode to shows together with her, I’ve never been close to Charlotte.

We never had that relationship of like, ‘Oh let’s go out to dinner after the show.’ It was different, so I can understand where this is coming from, from Becky, because it was never really there. I thought there was some type of unity there though.

I thought there was some type of like – with the history and everything we had gone through, all the training and all the matches that we’ve had together, and everything that we’ve fought for and stood for in such an important time for women’s wrestling in the WWE.

To come up and do this together, to bring change in the women’s division, I thought that was a bond strong enough, but apparently not after all these years, she still has some sort of insecurity and something against me that she’s still hanging on to, and that she still has to lash out on.”

It’s been officially confirmed that Bayley will challenge Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the June 23 edition of Raw. The taping will be the go-home episode of the show before Night of Champions on June 28 in Saudi Arabia.
