Bad Bunny Joins The LWO
Ahead of Backlash, WWE brought SmackDown to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the crowd was left delighted when the hometown hero Bad Bunny found a new home in the LWO.
At Backlash Bad Bunny will return to competition in a WWE ring for the first time since the 2022 Royal Rumble when he takes on his former friend Damian Priest in a San Juan Street Fight. Also on that show, Rhea Ripley will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Zelina Vega and on SmackDown, The Judgment Day and the LWO looked to gain the advantage before the huge PLE.
SmackDown’s main event saw Rey Mysterio team up with his LWO teammate Zelina Vega in a tag team match against Ripley and Dominik Mysterio. The WWE Hall of Famer and Vega picked up the win but The Judgment Day soon swarmed the ring to attack.
Thankfully for Rey Mysterio and Zelina Vega, the LWO was on hand and was led by Bad Bunny – who was wielding a kendo stick – to the ring. The group quickly evened the odds and Bunny looked to get his hands on Priest before their big match but The Judgment Day’s Punishment managed to get away but Dominik Mysterio didn’t make his escape before getting whacked with the stick.
As the show was coming to a close, Bad Bunny accepted an LWO shirt from Rey Mysterio indicating that he was now officially with the group.
